As we navigate these new and somewhat unchartered territories, I wanted to let you know what Mademoiselle Macaron is doing to protect our staff, adhere to guidelines and maintain the customer service you would expect from us during the Coronavirus pandemic.
There are now just three of us working to make macarons and send our orders. Our kitchen is big enough to ensure we have more than two metres space between us all (see photo below). No one is taking public transport to work, either walking or driving and we live either on our own or with a partner who has stayed at home to work for longer than the recommended government time to date.
As a food production company, safety and hygiene are always at the forefront of our mind and so we are wearing gloves, aprons and hairnets as we would usually.
Is Anything Changing? Yes.
Royal Mail are advising that they cannot offer guaranteed services during this time and it may be that despite best efforts, your parcel could be a day or two late. We cannot take any liability for this but will try to resolve any issues as quickly as possible. Royal Mail do not consider a parcel as missing until after 7 days since posting.
As a smaller team it might take us a bit longer to reply to messages on social media and email. Our phone lines are open Monday - Friday and we’ll try our best to reply quickly but you might not see us responding over the weekend. This is a trying time for us all across the world and it’s important for the team to switch off at the weekend to keep their mental health on an even keel.
Normally, we’re able to process orders very quickly but you may find that we have to put up notices limiting when we can send things out. This is due to two things, the first is our supply chain. Right now we are experiencing delays in receiving our bespoke packaging. The second issue is that as we are a much smaller team than usual, we don’t have the (wo)man power to turn things around as quickly as usual.
We will always try to communicate with you openly and honestly and keep you up to date with what’s going on. In brief: it is more or less, business as usual.
Passion, authenticity and integrity fuel our day to day operations. Mademoiselle Macaron was set up in answer to the last global crisis which left many young graduates unable to find paid, permanent employment. We are used to battling the uphill struggle!
Thank you for your support and understanding, it's very much appreciated.
Stay safe and sane,
Rachel, Chief Mademoiselle
