FAQs - Wholesale

I’ve created an account, how do I place my first order?

As a wholesale customer, when you log in, you will see a slightly different version of the website than our retail customers. Once you have logged in, choose the macarons you need adding the quantities required. Proceed to checkout where you will see the final discounted unit price.

There is a delivery charge of £15 as larger orders must be sent with a courier.

Let’s cut to the chase, what’s the unit price on the macarons?

Our wholesale prices work on the basis of the more you buy, the better the unit price. It starts at 85p and goes down to 55p/macaron depending on final cart quantities.

The great thing about macarons is that you can freeze them so, a lot of our customers buy in bulk and freeze upon delivery to get the best unit price.

If you want to buy our macarons as gift boxes, you will have to buy our macarons and packaging separately. We sell the macarons in bulk but not as finished boxes.

What are your lead times?

Our wholesale production lead time is 5 baking days, or 7 days total. We pride ourselves on ensuring each batch is made freshly for each customer - we promise they are worth the wait! If you have a specific delivery date request do contact us.

What are your payment terms?

Our order system allows you to choose between payment up front by debit or credit card. Alternatively, choose payment on bank deposit at the checkout and payment is due 28 days from date of ordering.

How do your macarons travel?

We pack the macarons in acrylic trays that mean they travel well. We pack them in with biodegradable packing materials and send them on their way with APC courier. Take the macaron trays out of the parcel and put straight in the fridge or freezer.

We are soon trialling using dry ice as a means of keeping the macarons frozen in transit.

Can I order your gift boxes to use in my store?

You can buy our branded packaging but at present, we do not have non branded packaging for wholesale customers to source from us directly. We can put you in touch with a designer who can help the process of getting your own bespoke packaging though!

We do not sell pre packed gift boxes as a wholesale offering.

Do you sell the macaron display towers?

We can supply acrylic macaron tower structures yes. These are dispatched flat-packed and work very well for creating a "wow" display in your coffee shop, restaurant window or deli. Contact us via email, wholesale@mademoisellemacaron.co.uk, and we can add one to your next order.

Can you make me a bespoke flavour and colour?

We are unable to offer bespoke options under wholesale pricing.

If you require a specific colour for your own client, this can be done but would be charged at the standard retail rate as shown on the standard website.

What would you suggest we charge as the RRP?

Mademoiselle Macaron has always had a sliding scale for macarons not only for wholesale clients but retail customers too. From £2 per individual macaron in a box of 6, to £1.50 in a box of 24, or £1.25 supplied in our trays, your pricing will be unique to you, we don’t insist on the price you sell the macarons at and we know for many customers, the macarons form part of an offering e.g. an afternoon tea or celebratory cake.

What’s the best way to display the macarons?

As the macarons are a chilled product, we recommend putting them in a display fridge. We advise against pre packing them in boxes and putting them on shelves as they aren’t made to be an ambient product.

In our shop we displayed what we knew we could sell in a day and used the ability to store macarons in the freezer as a means of controlling our stock and minimising waste.

The trays that our macarons are delivered in are great for using to display the macarons in cabinets.

What allergens are in your macarons?

Each macaron listed will show the ingredients in that particular flavour of macaron. All macarons contain nuts and eggs and dairy. Macarons which contain chocolate also contain soya as a result.

Our macarons have been tested for gluten and with the exception of our biscoff and cookies and cream macaron, they are all gluten free.

We have now added vegan macarons to the range too which are gluten AND dairy free.

What is the shelf life of macarons?

Macarons are best kept in the fridge and consumed within seven days. If kept in the freezer, they can last for up to three months. It takes approximately 30 minutes for a macaron to defrost.

Should you like a copy of our shelf life test results, please let us know.

What size are your macarons?

As all of our macarons are made by hand, there can be occasional variations but on average we work to a diameter of 4cm.
