Visiting Paris this weekend? You’re in for a treat!

7th June marks La Nuit Blanche, one of my favourite nights of the year. It’s just so very… French.

Wandering late into the night, weaving through impressive art installations and lesser-known buildings, beneath the stars and the iconic Paris skyline. Could anything be more dreamy?

That’s La Nuit Blanche, an all-night arts festival where the city transforms into a living gallery. Museums, parks, and hidden alleyways come alive with contemporary art, performances, and light installations.

You won’t be able to visit the Louvre (it doesn’t take part), but that’s part of the charm. The magic lies in stepping off the beaten path.

I have such vivid memories of walking with friends and ending up sipping mint tea in the gardens of La Grande Mosquée de Paris, surrounded by sculptures and short films projected onto ancient walls. I can honestly say I’d never have visited that space if not for La Nuit Blanche.

Why "White Night"? Because you’ll be up all night, and with so much creative buzz in the air, you won’t want to sleep. No need to worry about transport either: the metro runs all through the night, letting you wander as long, and as far, as you like.

This kind of cultural celebration, and the encouragement to be endlessly curious, is exactly what my little broken heart aches for when I think of Paris. And while I won’t be there this weekend, I’ll be honouring it in my own way - with macarons, of course.

Rose and lemon macarons would have paired beautifully with that mint tea all those years ago. So that’s what I’ll be indulging in.
